Summary of the Summer Training School 2017

The  Joint Summer School between Arrest Blindness and COST Joining Forces in Corneal Regeneration Research took place 13-16 June 2017 at Linköping University, Linköping, Sweden. In total, 18 trainees from different countries attended the school. A series of lectures were given by internationally recognised researchers and teachers that addressed the current stages of development in different major areas in the field of cornea.

The school focused on stem cells, imaging, meibomography, femtosecond laser surgery (ReLeX), laser corneal surgery, corneal biomechanics, strategies for ocular surface reconstruction, stromal tissue engineering, biomaterials implantation and evaluation in animal models, corneal neovascularization and angiogenesis, etc. Last lecture was on grant writing and EU grant opportunities.

The school consisted of lectures, workshops, lab work, group cultural activities and team building exercises. The school was a unique opportunity to put together two different research communities from two different running collaborative projects, Arrest Blindness and COST Action.

Here are few images from the school.
